The
suicide of Europe - must New Zealand follow suit?
Sunday
October 28th 2007

Remember - the vanity and arrogance of Europe's
current leaders is nothing new!
If you have some spare cash then you could follow
contemporary financial wisdom - by rushing to see a mortgage broker and
further
'leveraging' to the property market. Alternatively, you could use it for
the deposit on a new car (generally a reliably depreciating
'asset') or you might just spend it on some overpriced consumer item,
that will no doubt lose its appeal in a few months. Of course, at
NZ Gold, we are inclined to suggest
that any such sum should be used to retire debt or to purchase some
'financial insurance' via the precious metals. (As an aside we find
ourselves wondering - is gold set to imminently breach US800 per
ounce or will we see one of the many 'pullbacks' ahead of such a seismic
event? Of course, you can check up on current prices on our
home, about
gold, and about silver
pages).
There is a splendid alternative! If you have not
already had the chance to do so you could blow the money on a visit to
Rome. The Eternal City is a wonderful, atmospheric place, and we would
imagine a lifetime could be spent there without boredom ever setting in.
Yet Rome also offers something more salutary - a powerful and eloquent
reminder of Europe's past vanity and arrogance. Thus, in a sense, money
spent during the exploration of this admittedly costly city is an
investment - an investment in lessons from the past that appear
to have increasing relevance for the future. Mark Twain reminded us
"that history doesn't repeat itself, but it does rhyme" and, at
NZ Gold, we wonder if the fate of
Imperial Rome doesn't offer the new European hegemony - the EU -
a poetic portent for the future?
We have emphasised in the past at this website that
we are not 'anti-European'. On the contrary, we could happily bide our
time exploring the continent, lazing in the café
society, and updating NZ Gold at a
leisurely pace. No, it is not any 'anti-European' tendency on our part
with which we wrestle! Rather it is what we perceive as an
emerging hatred of the continent, its established population, its
historic religion, its liberties, its unique cultures, and its former
sovereign nations by an ever
more aloof 'ruling elite'. Increasingly, and predictably, we believe
that they display what might be termed 'the despot's psychopathology'.
Indeed, at NZ Gold, we plan to
explore the psychology of our so-called 'leaders' in a forthcoming
update►"the need to fail - understanding the psychopathology of
modern
politicians". The phenomenon we perceive disturbs us greatly,
and it offers little comfort to be domiciled some 12,000 miles away in
New Zealand. After all, didn't we note in our July 8th update► "Why is
the New Zealand government trying to deny our Judeo-Christian
heritage?" comment from the Thursday November 16th 2006 edition of the
New Zealand Herald (Clark discusses formal links with Europe - "there's an appreciation in
Brussels that New Zealand is the most like-minded country on earth to
the EU"). As we cautioned our readers in January 2007, we must be
mindful of: "the malignant influence that Britain and the European
Union exercise over New Zealand".
Certainly, when we look at the 'social engineering'
to which New Zealand has been subjected in recent years we discern the
destructive hallmarks of the European - or more correctly EU
- ideological hegemony. Moreover, when considering these matters it is
always worth bearing in mind the remarkably honest comment of United
States wartime President Franklin Roosevelt:
"in politics, nothing happens by
accident. If it happens, you can bet it was planned that way".
At NZ Gold we believe one of the
cardinal mistakes many people make is to attribute 'madness' or 'folly'
to the upper political echelons who legislate our futures. On the
contrary, we would suggest that - for the most part - these people know
exactly what they are doing and the destination to which they intend to
deliver us! As such, we are of the view that New Zealander's should
harbour serious concerns about the prospects for their liberties going
forward.
Central we would
suggest, to achievement of the European Union's dastardly intent, is the
permanent destruction of member states national sovereignty. We base
this view on our conviction that the EU, as currently constituted, is a
political entity living on borrowed time. Therefore, its 'leadership'
must deliver 'political blitzkrieg' in order to permanently eliminate
the possibility that the people of Europe might eventually come to their
senses - and realise that a later day vision of Stalin, Khrushchev and Brezhnev's
Soviet Union is
not for them. In particular, we believe that the United Kingdom was
effectively conned into membership via its original embrace of the
European Economic Community. That relatively benign sounding
organisation - cynically choreographed as offering the only hope for
post imperial Britain - has progressively and predictably
undergone a metamorphosis into the 'quasi-socialist' behemoth it is
today. Characterised by ever greater vanity, arrogance, greed,
hypocrisy, corruption, and imperial delusion the EU is seeking, in our
view, to deliver a new 'Pan-European Reich' - the terminal destination
along Hayek's sombre Road to Serfdom.
At NZ Gold it
seems to us that no European Union member has been more damaged than
England - in not the insane dash - but the calculated advance
- that is designed to render the business of sovereign nation historical
bunk. Critical to the assault on England has been the utterly ruthless
use of 'tactical immigration'. We are persuaded that this cynical
process - now so overwhelming that it can only be described as
'population replacement' - is designed to irrevocably change the
nation's (sorry the EU region's) demographics. Put simply the European
Union needs to overwhelm the Eurosceptic English with a new form of
'Europhile Diaspora' before - as occurred in the distant days of
Boudicca - the natives start rebelling and demanding that their new
European masters 'naff-off'. Of course, one of the critical factors that
has allowed the EU, and their lackeys in the Westminster Parliament, to
get away with a defacto invasion of England has been the condition of
national crapulence delivered by easy money. The dramatic fall in the
value of the pound sterling against real money -
gold and
silver - in recent years provides powerful evidence of the
way in which the English people have been stupefied by a credit induced
illusion of prosperity. King Alfred the Great put it perfectly:
"In the midst of prosperity the mind is elated, and in prosperity a
man forgets himself". Well said! After all, what is the loss of a
historic nation - your children's birthright - in comparison to the
transient euphoria of double digit compound growth in your house price?
The neutralizing of
England as a functional and identifiable nation is, in our view,
essential to the EU because historically Britain has acted as a bulwark
against the emergence of a single European hegemony. With Scotland
'firmly in the bag' and the Republic of Ireland the European Union's
'corporate welfare showcase' England cannot be allowed to act as a lone
'party pooper' (and defender of democracy and genuine free-market
principles) at the new Empire's periphery. Where the historically
courageous Welsh will ultimately position themselves is anybodies guess.
Yet as Poms we mustn't
become selfish! The EU may pay especially destructive attention to
England - variously aided and abetted domestically by a gullible liberal
elite and a highly astute corporate cabal - but that does not mean that
continental Europe is missing out. One of the key characteristics of the
EU in recent years has been its growing acquiescence in what, is
increasingly termed, the 'Islamisation of Europe'. In many respects this
seems bizarre because Islam is a religion reposed on many sound family
and moral values that are anathema to Europe's ruling elite. Yet, in
this we perceive lessons from the past. Adolf Hitler and Joseph Stalin
represented two ostensibly opposed ideologies, yet that did not stop them
concluding a 'non-aggression pact' in 1939. Put simply they might have
loathed each other but the principle that 'my enemies enemy is my
friend' drew them together in a brief commonality of interest. At
NZ Gold we believe a similar
phenomenon is happening today with the principle target for the 'EU/Islamic
Axis' being the continent's Judeo-Christian tradition.
The move to
progressively expunge the Christian lexicon from Europe is
understandable for the largely parallel reasons that we discussed in our July 8th 2007
update: "Why is the New Zealand government trying to deny our
Judeo-Christian heritage?". Indeed, in ideological terms, New
Zealand appears to be becoming an unstinting advocate of contemporary
European Union political and economic doctrine. At
NZ Gold this causes us huge concern. In
our conversations with many Kiwis there seems to be scant understanding
of just what is happening in Europe - particularly in the urban centres.
It is why we urge you to visit such resources as the conservative and
incisive Brussels Journal

for alternatives to the carefully choreographed claims that the EU is
some sort of Shangri-La to which New Zealand should aspire. Indeed, we
attach below hyperlinks to various of the Brussels journal archives so you
can consider the appalling events that took place in Brussels on
September 11th of this year. We also provide a link to the Scandinavian
writer Fjordman who offers real insights into the emerging crisis in
Sweden - a country whose ideologies are almost worshipped by New
Zealand's liberal elite. Reflect on the fact that Europeans various
sought to do no more than gather peacefully in Brussels to
remember those who perished in New York's twin towers and to call for an
end to the deliberate Islamisation of their continent. Then, next time
you hear the European Union piously boasting about democracy and human
rights, you will be able to offer the observation of William
Shakespeare: "I do smell all horse piss at which my nose is in great
indignation".

As we draw to the
conclusion of this article, we find ourselves taking issue with our own
choice of title. For in reality Europe is not committing suicide - it is
being murdered! The combination of a collapsing indigenous birthrate,
simply unimaginable levels of immigration (with plans for a further
twenty millions from Africa & Asia), the relentless advance of urban
Islam, the parallel expunging of Judeo-Christian tradition, the
extinguishing of representative democracy and the entrenched belief that
it is permanently possible to spend more than has been earned, are all
factors that point to a coming European crisis of Byzantine proportions.
For our European readers we would suggest that these are factors that
demand the 'holding of gold'
irrespective of the wider issues of systemic monetary debasement that we
regularly address. Remember, most people during the later days of
Imperial Rome would not have been able to comprehend that the halcyon
days were over. Our readers must make up their own minds, whether they
feel NZ Gold to be excessively
pessimistic about Europe's future prospects. Yet one thing can be said
with absolute certainty! Nothing obliges New Zealand to travel the path
of supremely high risk along which our European 'kith & kin' are being
so rapidly
taken.
